CAPF, or Central Armed Police Forces, encompasses seven paramilitary forces in India responsible for maintaining internal security and law enforcement. These forces include the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles (AR) and National Security Guard (NSG). CAPF 2024 age limit Candidates must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on 1st August 2023 to be eligible for the CAPF exam. This means that applicants must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1998 and not later than 1st August 2003 to qualify for the exam. However, certain relaxations are available for candidates belonging to specific categories. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates are eligible for a relaxation of up to five years, while Other Backward Classes candidates can avail of a relaxation of up to three years. Additionally, Civilian Central Government Servants and Ex-Servicemen can also benefit from a relaxation of up to five years, subject to specific conditions outlined by the Central Government. These age relaxations aim to provide fair opportunities for candidates from different backgrounds to participate in the CAPF exam. CAPF Educational qualification Candidates applying for the UPSC CAPF exam must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution. The degree must be conferred by a university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or it must be from an institution declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Additionally, candidates who are in their final year of their degree program are eligible to apply, but they must be able to submit their final year mark sheet during the application process. Neck health should exhibit no signs of enlargement, inability to extend fully, or evidence of spinal disease. Dental health requires a sufficient number of sound teeth for efficient mastication, with no severe pyorrhea. Candidates should not exhibit active signs of clinical venereal disease or chronic skin diseases like leprosy or psoriasis. However, exceptions are made for subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, provided they obtain written consent from the Central Government. What is CAPF exam language and syllabus? UPSC CAPF exam is conducted in both English and Hindi languages, offering candidates the flexibility to choose their preferred medium of communication. Paper I, which covers General Ability and Intelligence, consists of objective-type questions available in both English and Hindi. Similarly, Paper II includes General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension components, with candidates having the option to write the essay in either English or Hindi. However, it’s important to note that the medium for Precis Writing, Comprehension Components, and other language skills remains English only. Candidates must stick strictly to the language guidelines specified by the Commission to avoid disqualification.
